JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE POST OF THE CHAIRPERSON,

STRATEGIC POLICY PLANNING CELL (SPPC)

 

  • Develop a team of experts to work as SPPC’s core staff.

  • Use national and international networks to create a Council of Experts to provide intellectual input to SPPC as required

  • Oversee, solicit, and/or conduct strategic research and prospective analysis on issues relevant to the NSC

  • Prepare policy notes based on the research and analysis and suggest ways to implement the recommendations

  • Respond to any demands for input on key issues from the Prime Minister/NSC

  • Review any national policy/strategy documents as tasked by the Prime Minister/NSC

  • As and when needed/possible, lead efforts to liaison with other ministries/agencies to coordinate research and analysis and provide them intellectual support

  • Convene policy dialogues to receive input from independent analysts and experts on issues that fall within the SPPC’s mandate

  • Brief the Prime Minister/NSC as demanded

  • Attend NSC meetings

  • Serve on government committees/task forces as and when appointed by competent authority.

  • Participate in national and international policy dialogues held under official/non-official auspices as and when assigned by competent authority

  • Responsible for leadership and management of the SPPC
